Today’s event inspiration board was actually inspired by my sister. Yesterday she wore the most adorable outfit of brown flat boots, shorts, a white blouse, and a navy and white striped open cardigan. Gosh she looked fabulous and it made me realize how much I love navy and white stripes with a nautical feel. And so, today’s event inspiration board was born!
First Impressions Designs: Nautical Navy and White Inspiration Board
You really don’t need to be on the beach, at a yacht club, or on a lake to have a nautical, navy, and white themed event (though, of course, it is a perfect theme for those locations!). In fact, the whole point to a theme is to transform a space into whatever your heart desires. Get your guests ready with navy and white invitations, like the pocket invitation above. Or (there were so many I loved, I just couldn’t choose!), like one of these:
Then for the event itself, use lots of navy and white striped ribbon and nautical rope as accents. Navy and white striped table cloths, themed napkins, lanterns, candles, fanned scallop edged programs, navy writing on signs and place cards, and glass bottle guest favors make for a fabulously decorated, themed event. The best part is that functional pieces (the napkins, programs, signs, place cards, and guest favors) also act as decorations so you’re getting double duty out of your money and effort! If it is a wedding, bridesmaids can wear navy dresses, while the groom and groomsmen could be in navy suits. If it is another type of event and you really wanted to go all out, you could even ask your guests to come in navy and white!
